DIARY DATES
This Centre covers a huge area and so we travel around the county and have no fixed meeting place. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 11 a.m.

New members are very welcome to join us and for those without transport, this is not a problem as there are plenty of cars, so lifts are available.

A Memorable Musical Lunch

In February our group were fortunate enough to have as our lunch guests, a group of musicians named La Volta, that specialised in playing medieval type music.

Not only was this unusual, but they played on instruments of the period around the 15th century, such as a Psaltery, small harp, a series of Crumhorns, a very early type of violin, and a box shaped Hurdy Gurdy. Most of the instruments were hand made by members of the group.

Several styles of music were played such as Pavanes and Jigs.

Not only was the music very entertaining, but all the players changed into medieval designs of costume before coming on stage.
