Portsmouth Friendship Centre

A casual visit made by John Tween (our Vice Chairman) and his wife whilst holidaying in the area.

Tweeny and I were trying our new caravan for the first time this week and as we were close to Portsmouth, we decided to drop in on the Portsmouth Friendship Centre who meet on the third Tuesday of each month.

I have to say that we were warmly welcomed by Joyce Hackett the Friendship Centre's 77 years young Vice Chairman and John Gardner the Membership Secretary.

For the April meeting the Centre had invited Tony Humphrys to entertain them. Tony is a Guitarist with a difference for he not only played and sang, but also gave a lot of background information on the many songs and their originators. Tony also successfully encouraged audience participation.

The Portsmouth Friendship Centre is a thriving Centre of 85 members with many activities on the go. Should you decide to drop in, they meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Drayton Institute Hall, Havant Road, Drayton, Portsmouth. You can be sure of a very warm welcome!
